About us
Abdul Rehman Butt: Co-founder, Qawi Fitness
• Human Movement Specialist (HMS) – Brookbush Institute, USA
• Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) – Brookbush Institute, USA
• Nutrition and Wellness Consultant – AFPA, USA
• Krav Maga Yellow Belt – Chicago USA
A fitness journey that spans over 25 years, Abdul Rehman has practiced dozens of fitness disciplines, including exercise programs, sports and martial arts. Initially an athlete playing national level basketball and college-level rugby, he also spent over a dozen years weightlifting and bodybuilding in Lahore, Pakistan. He then experienced a paradigm shift when he moved to the US, challenging his conventional approach to health. After spending years of exploring and training in the US- including calisthenics, HIIT group classes, rock-climbing, yoga, Pilates, backpacking, beach volleyball, slacklining, boxing and Krav Maga- he came back to Pakistan with a completely different approach to fitness.
He continued to build his understanding of true health with books, courses, research and certifications, and he kept working on a holistic fitness program that builds long-term health. He has developed an exercise philosophy that focuses on mindfulness and quality over quantity. Fitness is not just in numbers, and true health is much more than just aesthetics. Abdul Rehman co-founded Qawi Fitness in 2023, with the goal to develop functional fitness that translates into high energy, pure strength, natural movement, and athletic performance. Many scholars have emphasized the importance of nurturing a Muslim ummah with strength, grit and perseverance. Qawi Fitness hopes to support this cause with fitness services that change the mindset of fellow Muslims towards fitness and build a community of like-minded, health-oriented Muslims.
Samreen Butt: Co-founder, Qawi Fitness
Trained as a Visual Communication Designer from BNU, Samreen came up with the idea of starting Qawi Fitness, observing the passion and expertise of her husband for health and fitness. She understood the need for such services, and the utter lack of understanding in our society of health and how to achieve it. She then took a lead in marketing and branding. As Qawi Foods was launched in response to the interest of Qawi Fitness clients to eat clean and healthy, she took her years of hard work making natural foods at home and took the lead in launching several products that are free of refined sugar and processed ingredients.
